AP PSYCHOLOGY / 2027 PREPARATION

AP Psychology.
Understand minds. Think with evidence.

Psychology asks how people think, learn and behave—and how we can study those questions. Go beyond recognizing a term: explain it in a situation, compare possible explanations and check what the research can tell you.

A SUBJECT OVERVIEW

Connect concepts, behavior and evidence.

Use these themes to orient your study. For the exact current course framework and exam requirements, follow the official College Board links below.

Brain, body and behavior

Connect biological processes to behavior and mental activity. Practice explaining relationships without reducing a complex situation to one cause.

Thinking and learning

Explore how people take in information, remember, learn and solve problems. Apply an idea to a new example rather than stopping at its definition.

Development and social life

Consider how people change over time and interact with others. Compare the roles of the individual, the situation and the surrounding context.

Research and well-being

Ask how a study was designed, what was measured and which conclusions are supported. Use psychological concepts carefully; a study example is not a personal diagnosis.

PRACTICE WITH A PURPOSE

How should I study for AP Psychology?

Pair each concept with a new situation and explain why it fits. Then inspect a short research description: identify the design, variables and limits of the conclusion. Mix topics over time so recognition becomes usable understanding.
